Migration /09/7/2021 week 10

This term we have been learning about migration within me and my family.

My understanding of migration is when someone moves away. Or migrates to another place.

Somewhere you can go either in a different place or country.

Chang is someone or something that's not gonna be the same.

It's like new, something’s just won't be the same.

Place and change are all you need to complete the process of migration and everything in that area.

I know one of my family members that has migrated. It was my great grand-dad, he migrated from Ireland of Irish ethnic to New Zealand when he was 17 years old.

How do I link this topic to outside factors?

-My family members that have migrated to another place/country.

It made me challenge myself to think about which of my ancestors or my older's migrated around the world.

All of the information I found for migration helped and supported my learning for the topic, and knowing which part of my family migrated.

Balaclava Story 6.7.21

In English we were working on the Balaclava story. The story was about this boy that really wanted to be in the balaclava gang, a balaclava is a ski hat or a hat. Some of the things that was interesting was when he was forcing him self to steal a balaclava, I was shocked. He was so desperate to have one and wanted to be in the gang, and since he wasn't in the gang his friends started ignoring him.

After he stole it and heard that someone's balaclava was missing he started felling guilty. After that his mum bought him his own balaclava, so he felt even more guilty and started regretting what he did.

After that i created a work art and put in some of the key words that i found in the story.

Thursday 1 july term 2 week 9

Kia ora my name is LeeArn Brown and we are learning about push pull factors and intervening obstacles

Describing a story using, push and pull factors and intervening obstacles.

We have learnt that push and pull factors are the same but have different meanings either it's happy, sad or something that prevents things from happening.

I have learnt that doing this exercise is helpful towards our learning and an easier way to explain what the story is about,

It has changed because we always used to do the basics but now using push, pull factors,  it's easy to work with and gives more detail.

What has changed about using this Is that it's not basic but is more explainable to work with.

It helps with the details and has more expressen to it.

CYB week 7 , Scratch

Today we had a tutu on Scratch and changed a bit of coding on the game just to get familiar with it, and maybe next week I'll try and make my own game from the start.

Scratch is a program where you can make your own stuff like games, songs and others. I enjoyed looking at everyone's projects and hard work to give me ideas about what I could make.

CYB 10 June 2021

Kia Ora my name is LeeArn and I'm going to tell you about my Google Draw. It was hard to keep the straight line but after a few tries it worked.

I liked how we could explore and choose what we wanted to draw, I chose plain Nike Air Force shoes. It was difficult at first because the lines just kept going out of line so I changed it up and used this curved line and it was better use and much easier. After a while I started putting colour into it. I red one and on the other shoe i did a red and yellow, which stands out heaps. I have enjoyed my time doing it.
